Great Way to Start your Day

Happy New Year! I am a little late on that I know. It is hard to believe that it’s already 17 days  into the new year. Wow, how time flies! I was hoping things would slow down a bit…but so far it’s not looking too good. I am struggling to get up early enough to start the day with my usual quiet time routine  ( which is never good for me) and finding the time to work on anything related to writing seems out of the question. Even as I sit here now I am watching the clock! lol.

However, I wanted to share about these two amazing devotionals I am reading. I was given both of them for Christmas gifts and they have already been a total blessing! One is The Power of Being Thankful by Joyce Meyer ( which I love) and it reminds us daily of all the many ways and things we have to be thankful for.

The other one  has been part of my life for 38 plus years. The Guidepost Daily Devotional. I actually grew up with my mom reading my sister and me stories from it as we ate our breakfast before school each morning.  Now each year my mom  gives me and about 20 other people a copy …. I love this devotional!!

It is compiled of short stories from about 50 different authors who share their personal experiences with God in normal everyday activities. So far this year many of the stories have been something I could directly relate to. For instance, one was about fear and regret,  another about facing challenges, WAITING (I didn’t need that one at all) God’s plan not lining up with your plan, responding to difficult people with kindness and last but not least too busy to pray. If I didn’t know any better I would think they had been spying on me!!

Anyway, I just wanted to share about these two great books in case you were looking for something quick and uplifting to get your day going in the right direction.

Have a great Day!

I seem to be experiencing the same problem as you, time is flying by so fast for me too. Enjoyed your reminder that starting the day with God is so important and there are alot of good devotionals to help it make their quiet time easier.
